What are the Requirements to become a Certified ETL Teacher?

Every ETL teacher candidate is required to have a doctorate, master’s or master’s degree in progress in relation to education, social work, special education or a related field.
What is the Certification Process?

Every ETL teacher candidate is required to successfully complete a 6-9 month intensive, one-on-one group and classroom training as well as hands-on training in the field.
Certification process involves the following:

Completion of the ETL Course I
-
Completion of ETL Course II
-
Completion of ETL Course III (Vocational Training)
-
Completion of ETL Course IV (Sexuality)
-
Completion of ETL Course V (Autism)
-
Completion of ETL Course VI (Urgent Support)
ETL teacher candidates will also go through additional training on:
*Tourette’s Syndrome
*Brain Injury
*Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
*Aging
*OCD
*Cri du Chat
*PICA
*Cohen
*Prader Willi Syndrome
*Angelman Syndrome
*Advocacy Training
In order to keep ETL teacher’s skills sharpened and stay updated with the most current studies
in the field, ETL provides the following:

Every six weeks, all ETL family members are required to attend one day of Educational Review as part of a continuing education and receiving therapeutic support.

Every two years, ETL teachers are required to go through a one-day recertification process.

Every ETL teacher is offered field support as needed.

Every ETL teacher is assigned and ETL coach, who provides therapeutic support, assistance, checks and balances in a weekly basis.

Every ETL teacher is assigned a facilitator to assist them with paperwork, scheduling, therapeutic checks/balances on a daily basis.

Every ETL facilitator and office mentor are required to go with an ETL teacher in the field on a quarterly basis
-
The ETL office mentor will provide additional therapeutic support and checks/balances to ETL teachers on a daily basis.

Every new certified ETL teacher is provided with nine months of mentoring in addition to all of the above therapeutic support and checks/balances.
