James and Mary were sweethearts in school. Then James was taken away from friends, family and Mary and put into psychiatric care. Isolation was a common way of treating individuals with behavioral problems. Traditional treatment often includes isolation, therapy, medication, and observation. However, ETL focuses on how each human being wants to live his or her life and teaching each individual effective ways to manage their feelings and actions. James has become independent with ETL's assistance. Once he was back on his own, James reconnected with Mary, and they were married 3 years ago. James and Mary both work at McDonald's. James says that he cleans the windows, mops, sweeps, and gets along with the boss. "Fighting ain't gonna help anything, and you can go to jail and pay a $250 fine. Now, I know the right way to go about it," says James. ETL founder and teacher, Masoud Moazami works with James to help him manage his feelings and to have a positive attitude. James now enjoys working, watching pro-wrestling, swimming, and camping. "I like James happy," says Mary, "Masoud helps make him the way he used to be when I first me him."
